I washed my car a couple of nights ago. For those who know me, that’s not much of a surprise. My thought was, “it’s been raining and my car is a little dirty.” I figured I’d just wash off the dirt really quickly. To make a long story short, I wound up having to wash it three times and it got me thinking.
Sometimes, we look at our lives and think, “I’m not that dirty” or, “the things that I’ve been involved in don’t make that dirty”. A lot like my car, we don’t realize how “dirty” we really are.
That’s why it is important to stay close to Jesus. Jesus is like the car wash. He will show us our dirt and He gives us the opportunity to be washed clean.
The nice thing about being clean is you feel better. I pulled out of the car wash feeling much better than I did when I went in. I didn’t like how my car looked, and after washing it I was happy to have my car again. Being washed by Jesus leaves us the same way. We need to be continually washed and a Jesus is as simple as asking Him to wash you.

I loved the analogy you gave. It really put things into prospective. Thanks for sharing.
