Benevolence Request



Dear Applicant,

Thank you for applying today, we are seeking to demonstrate the Love of God to our church and community by helping with resources that God has made available to us. There are no guarantees funds will be made available for you. This is an application process that takes approximately 2 weeks. If funds are approved, checks will only be issued to a Company where the need is. WE DO NOT PROVIDE CASH OR CHECKS PAYABLE TO ANY APPLICANTS. You must meet the following guidelines to be approved for assistance...


  1. Attendance is required if we are helping you a second time/for first-time assistance, see item #4 below: ...This is a in good faith requirement. We will believe you are in attendance simply when you make application and mark on form you attend regularly. 
  2. The applicant applying for assistance a second or more times must have attended at least 2 services a month for the past 3 months. Our service times are Sun 10am, Wed 6:00pm, or Tues. 6:00pm (Siloam Springs)
  3. When applying for Benevolence assistance a copy of the utility bill you are requesting assistance for is required. The name on the bill must be the same as the individual applying (submit to office@wlfar.com and include your name and "benevolence request" in the subject line).
  4. Once an applicant has received assistance there is a waiting period before they can apply again and the following items must be followed:
    • applicant must be a member or attender of Word of Life.
    • 6 months from the 1st time help was received
    • 12 months from the 2nd time help was received
    • 24 months from the 3rd time help was received
    • After the 4th time the applicant is not eligible for assistance
  5. Family members in the same household may not apply for other family members. 
  6. Who Word of Life Helps (listed in order of priority):
    • 1st priority is our Members
    • Regular Attenders
    • Non Members
  7. Word of Life typically doesn't help with the following items however is open to review based on applicant's situation:
    • Deposits
    • Phones
    • Cable TV / Streaming services
    • Internet
    • Credit Cards
    • Furniture
    • Taxes
    • Entertainment
    • Cash
  8. If applicant needs help with fuel for a vehicle or groceries for the week, please call the church office for immediate assistance.

If an applicant has been helped once with a benevolence need, before they can request assistance again they must complete a free financial class provided by Word of Life. This class is designed to help our applicants become financially fit and win in life. We are very excited to be able to offer this opportunity free of charge.
